Founder and Managing Member

Omar Sánchez Pagán

Trial attorney. Business counselor. Financial perspective.

Omar Sánchez Pagán is the founder and managing member of OSP Law Office, LLC. He represents businesses, shareholders, fiduciaries, entrepreneurs, and private clients in complex civil and commercial disputes and advises them on corporate, contractual, governance, and succession-related matters.

Admitted to practice in Puerto Rico in 2007, Omar is also admitted before the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He has nearly two decades of legal experience. His litigation practice includes commercial and contract disputes, estate controversies, shareholder and member disputes, antitrust and class-action matters, defamation and reputational claims, insurance-related litigation, appeals, arbitration, and other complex civil proceedings. He also advises clients on the formation and governance of corporations and limited liability companies, commercial agreements, financing arrangements, business operations, compliance, and transactions among owners.

Omar is also a Certified Public Accountant. His perspective is shaped by experience beyond traditional legal practice, including work in public accounting, government finance, and development banking. His accounting training and public-accounting experience inform his analysis of financial records, damages, ownership structures, and the business consequences of litigation and transactions.

Before founding OSP in 2017, Omar practiced for approximately a decade with established Puerto Rico law firms. Earlier in his career, he served as an assistant to the president of the Development Bank for Puerto Rico, as finance director of the Puerto Rico Department of State, and as a staff auditor with Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Background

A Legal Tradition

Law is also a family tradition for Omar. His father, Luis Sánchez-Betances, is a widely recognized trial lawyer who served as Attorney General, or Secretary of Justice, of Puerto Rico in 2013. Omar’s brothers, Sergio Sánchez Pagán and Adrián Sánchez Pagán, are capital members of Sánchez-Betances, Sifre & Muñoz-Noya.

OSP and Sánchez-Betances, Sifre & Muñoz-Noya maintain independent practices. The lawyers collaborate on selected matters and, at times, serve the same clients through distinct or coordinated engagements when their combined experience and resources can provide meaningful value. Any collaboration is undertaken pursuant to the applicable engagement arrangements, with client consent, and subject to conflict-of-interest review.
